Oncura Fact Sheet

Oncura has a major global presence in the treatment of localized prostate cancer, offering the established and proven option of brachytherapy, as well as the rapidly growing technique of cryotherapy. In the United States it is estimated that around 234,460 new prostate cancer patients will be diagnosed in 2006; and more than 90% will be diagnosed in the local and regional stages.

Cryotherapy and brachytherapy are minimally invasive treatment options that address the needs of different segments of the prostate cancer market. The combination of the leading products in two key segments positions Oncura as a unique provider of minimally invasive options across the continuum of prostate cancer.

Oncura offers physicians and patients a choice of minimally invasive treatment options for use in individuals with early, as well as more advanced and recurrent stages of prostate cancer. It also offers the option of cryotherapy for the treatment of kidney cancer.

ONCURA was created through the merger of Amersham plc’s (now GE Healthcare) brachytherapy business and Galil Medical Ltd’s urology business. Galil is a subsidiary of Elron (ELRN). Headquartered in the United States, ONCURA operates as an independent business, with its International business being operated from its UK subsidiary.
