Physicians

Oncura provides minimally invasive treatments options for prostate cancer. By bringing brachytherapy and cryotherapy together we have created a unique capability to serve patients, physicians and hospitals providing both of these minimally invasive treatment options through one company. In addition to this, Oncura also offers cryotherapy to treat renal cancer.

In Prostate cancer, the two modalities are positioned as complementary, with brachytherapy being used in low and intermediate risk patients and cryotherapy in radiation failure and high risk patients. At Oncura we believe that there is a clear distinction backed by supporting data. Brachytherapy has been successful over a long period of time and has been established as an effective treatment in the low and intermediate risk groups as evidenced by peer-reviewed clinical literature, whereas cryotherapy which is an emerging technology, can be used in the higher risk patients and radiation failures (where the recurrence is still localized), and for groups of patients for whom there is no real definitive option.
